Parenting an Autistic Child

If you have an autistic child with low support needs, knowing when and how to help your child navigate life might feel frustrating  in its complexity.  At times, your child may surprise you with wisdom beyond their years.  At other times, they may be moved to tears by the slightest change in their day.  I understand this.

Through both professional and personal experience, I have become a seasoned therapist who looks for underlying causes of a child’s feelings of overwhelm.  From there, I work with the child’s parents to discover new ways of helping their child work with, or around what contributes to the difficulty in managing emotions.  I offer both teletherapy and home therapy visits to customize treatment in a way that works best for your family.  (In home visits are limited to central and west metro areas.)

Teen Group

I am now offering a therapeutic support group for autistic, low support needs teens, ages 14-17.  This group will be held one Tuesday evening per month, from 6:00-7:30, in my Golden Valley office, at 8085 Wayzata Blvd.

If you are interested in this group, please feel free to contact me to schedule a free, online consultation, for further details.
