Trauma can enter a person's life in different ways. It can come from a single event, like a car accident or an assault, but it can also come from difficult life circumstances that don't seem possible to resolve. Raising a disabled or marginalized child in a world that values only ableism and conformity, having a partner or other family member who discourage movement or growth outside traditional roles, living at a time when misogyny is clearly part of our culture, are all examples of what can cause chronic trauma.
These circumstances come from the human systems we live in, and no matter how hard we fight to bring well-being into our lives and to those we love, we can only find peace when we heal our relational wounds. Then we can move forward to create our own, intentional cultures.
Through expertise in trauma, and my own values of self-actualization and determination, I am happy to offer services to help clients heal their relational wounds, using EMDR (including Intergenerational EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Internal Family Systems parts work. I can then offer support in helping you on your path to reconstructing your life in a way that reflects your values and authentic self.
If you think you may be experiencing trauma in your life, I invite you to schedule a consultation with me to see if I might be helpful in supporting your healing.
